See Ya Later Aligator!!!!!

It's August blog hop run by Carla at Creatin' in the sticks the brief was  to create something inspired by travel, anything from places to go, how to get there and anything in between. Even an alligator.
I was going to make a big block book for EPP but I needed a few supplies and time ran out and I couldn't get to the fabric shop to get what I wanted and we have had a steady stream of visitors lately, it's my husbands 60th birthday today so his brothers and a few friends made the trek over the last couple of weekends to visit him and the kids are here now and another brother. So then I thought I would make shoes bags for the kids as they are starting to travel again, but same problem I couldn't get what I wanted so think Lianne..... I went to the op shops looking for a voile curtain nope, the cheap shop had one and I must say never ever buy a sheer curtain from the Reject shop it's terrible material but good enough for shoe bags, I used french seams so it wouldn't fall apart. So then I didn't have enough bias binding for the casing so I used my Pauline Rogers bias makers and volia!

With all the visitors we have been up at the lookout a few times and the canola fields in the distance look beautiful. The other picture is my Bonsai Azalea that number 3 son has grown for me.

Make sure to go and look at the others in todays hop
Thanks for stopping by

August Already

Welcome August, you sneaked right in there....

August is a big birthday month hubby will be 60!!!!!! Youngest will be 26, friends birthdays all month.

I am still trying to get my quilts finished, I have machine basted 3 ready to go to the kitchen table ad get quilted. I was thinking of getting a small Juki machine to go on my frame but I don't think that will solve my quilting problems so I think I will just have to save, borrow, steal and get a bigger machine and frame. this will take time.

I will definately try and get more from this author, the book was great to read and I didn't geuss the ending at all

I have been baking my own bread, we like it and go through 2 loaves a week, last weekends loaf didn't play nice, it wouldn't leave the tin and my favourite tupperware spatula broke, I will have to replace it it is the best for turning omelettes

am up to date with my Churn Dash Blocks for Chooky's sew a long.

I'm doing The Kinship 100 Block Fusion Quilt again, I may even have the finished one quilted before this one is finished.... a block a day for 100 days, it sounds hard but it isn't it just takes a bit of organising, we'll see how I go.

That's all my news Bye!

Mudgee Weekend Away

The weekend after the long weekend was Coolah Country Patchwork's weekend retreat in Mudgee. They rent a 6 bedroom house and off we go....
